ANDRES CARLOS - Acrylic Painter

Howdy! Meet Andres, a husband, newly made father, and Meridian local artist centered primarily on painting Western and North American Wildlife. Ever since he could hold a crayon, he fell in love with art. He was often said to have crafted the finest stick figure drawings in the world, even rivaling masterpieces from renaissance master artists (according to his mom…).

At the age of 17 he won 1st place in the 38th Congressional District Congressional Art Competition where his artwork would end up being displayed in Washington DC for a year. This event deepened his love for art and encouraged him to earn a degree in Advertising Design & Illustration as well as study photography.Originally, Andres loved creating photo realistic graphite portraits, but during his studies he was exposed to acrylic on canvas paintings. He immediately took a liking to the new medium and has since made it his medium of choice.
His artwork features elements from each study to create beautiful pieces that draw the viewer in. This is achieved through the use of color, composition, space, and perspective to name a few. Other mediums he enjoys are colored pencils and creating digital illustrations.

When Andres is not painting on a canvas, he enjoys design work, and photo retouching & manipulation. Andres’ biggest subject matter inspiration comes from the peace he found while visiting and living in West Yellowstone, Montana, as well as spending time in the great outdoors. To him, there’s nothing like sitting in nature observing its wildlife and landscapes. Each scene in nature is unique and through his art he is able to bring those scenes with their colors and emotions to life and to your home.
